Function / Content

This series consists of a police account book that was used by numerous police stations including the Hammond Police Station (16/01/1888-03/07/1897) and Nectar Brook Police Station (01/10/1897-30/09/1898) both in South Australia. The entries continue for Arltunga Police Station (01/12/1908-01/03/1943). The front cover and first page of the volume is missing and the remaining binding is fragile. Entries in the account book were entered over a double-page and, at the top of each page is recorded the name of the police station. The following information is recorded: date of account, date received, name of claimant, name of claim, amount, to whom sent for payment, number of order, amount, date received, date paid, to whom paid, receipt (how disposed of) and remarks.
